Ryan Lauder Band

Born upon the windswept shores of South West Scotland to Swedish Parents Ryan Lauder discovered music at an early age. By the age of 5 his family moved to the remote island of Faro in the Baltic Sea. It was here that he was classically trained on the recorder and picked up his first guitar. In 2008 he moved back to the uk and so far has opened up for acts such as First Aid Kit, I am Kloot, Johhny Flynn, and has just completed an American tour with folk troubadour Langhorne Slim. It was rumoured that one fan in america said to him "wow, that was actually not bad at all." With not even one official release, a buzz has already started about Ryan Lauder with many people in Bars saying he is the next Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Bette Midler. Ryan's band consists of pedal steel, cello, upright bass, and drums and his set ranges from soft folk numbers to high energy americana. "It's simplest to say that Ryan Lauder sounds a bit like Damien Rice. But it isn't completely accurate. Lauder, captures the same stark beauty of Rice's songwriting, but instead of crushing, it feels sincere, hopeful, even moving. And that makes all the difference." -Boise Weekly. Idaho USA .... ..

Stemming from eastern roots MuHa layers and mixes the sounds of different traditions, influenced by the multicultural society that they inhabit in the UK. The band is a great live act, entertaining with musicianship and engaging with audiences through a variety of languages and catchy grooves.

Combining the melodic beauty of Eastern European folklore, North Indian Kathak rhythms, Cuban beats, Western European influence and original lyrics from Hindi to old Russian and modern Ukrainian, they mesmerize with a musical feast rooted in the Slavonic tradition but cultured from the world.

Andy’s daring and innovative approach to creating and releasing modern music has proved him and his alter-ego Atlum Schema to be a bright beacon in the depths of British music today – watch out.’
Bearded Magazine

‘This is the sort of album that is either going to disappear without trace and be picked up on in 20 years time as a lost classic or it might just make its way onto this year’s Mercury Prize list. Either way give it a listen now. You will be intrigued and impressed.’
New Sound Wales

‘Atlum Schema may well be the best talent you don’t yet know.’
Heathens

Heathens was created by Nottingham born guitarist Luke Barton. His twisted folk sound is identified by obscure riffs and an aggressive finger-picking style, which is accompanied by his warbeling vocals and thumping kick-drum. This man is not to be missed.

Kola

Kola are a folk band from Cornwall who evolved over the winter of 2010/11.

Song Writer and front man Ryan Jones tempted Jazz Drummer Harry Harding in to forming a new band with the offer of a tour that didn’t exist! Harding was left without money, work or accommodation. He had little choice but to spend a bleak winter squatting in the abandoned recording studio known as The Orphanage that Ryan had arranged to stay in. After a winter of recording the partnership had blossomed with the birth of a live act called Kola. Later the duo were Joined by Annie Gray on Violin, Keys and Vocals and Daniel Cole on the acoustic guitar.
Obvious influence can be heard in Kola’s music from such greats as The Water boys, Fleetwood Mac, Credence Clearwater revival and The Kinks but Ryan states his biggest influence as coming from ‘The Band.’

Their E.P "Ruins" was released on the 10th of November 2011, and 2012 is already promising great things for the band, with a tour of the UK in April and May both performing as a duo and full band.
